This Level 3 course is available in different size combinations. The Extended Certificate is equivalent to a single A-Level, the Diploma is equivalent to two A-Levels. Please discuss with the teaching team which option is most appropriate for you and your career plans. Designed to provide an understanding of Business in a vocational environment, students will develop a range of skills desirable in the work place and higher education; independent investigation, interpreting data and marketing and sales skills to name but a few. Personal career planning is also an integral part of the course. The course allows students to be fully in control of their destiny. The 50% coursework format allows students to investigate areas of business that interest them and we have a good track record of students exceeding their targets. In addition to your class work you will have the opportunity to experience a range of business environments through visits and enterprise projects, for example setting up a school Young Enterprise Company. Previous activities have included developing sales skills with the Earl Mountbatten Hospice, factory visits to AJ Wells, HTP and GKN as well as a range of personalised work placements. The CTEC course is graded Pass, Merit, Distinction and Distinction*. They are a recognised qualification which carry UCAS points for progression to Higher Education.
