This programme seeks to introduce learners to two main functions within a business and provide a firm basis for further study within the fields of business administration and marketing. With approximately 3.2 million people in the UK employed within an administrative and secretarial role, across a range of sectors such as public administration, education, health, finance and professional services, this technical qualification provides a springboard into a variety of employment opportunities. Within business administration, roles can be varied across the sector. Employers have high expectations and require their administrative staff to be multi-skilled, with both technical and practical administration skills, including a focus on efficiency and service delivery both in the workplace and digitally. A career starting in business administration has diverse progression routes into a broad range of roles throughout an organisation. The technical and practical skills you will develop are highly transferable across all industries. Developed with employers, this qualification enables you to learn the skills and behaviours that will give you the best opportunity to be successful when moving into employment.
What you need to get on
A minimum of four GCSEs at grade 3 or above, including English language.
How you are assessed
One subject in depth, assessed largely through coursework and projects.
What this level means
The GCSE-equivalent step, and the usual route into Level 3.
