The course aims to develop a broad range of ICT skills as well as knowledge of the uses of ICT in vocational contexts. Students will develop knowledge and understanding of the components, functions and applications of ICT systems within a wide range of organisations. Students will develop an understanding of the main principles of solving problems using ICT and develop the skills necessary to apply this understanding. The course will provide the knowledge, understanding and skills needed to prepare for employment. This course would suit students who:  have an interest in the applications of ICT;  would like to study ICT at university level;  may want a career in ICT.

What you need to get on

5 GCSE’s grades 9-4 including English Language and Maths. Preferred BTEC OR GCSE in ICT/Computer Science A BTEC Subsidiary Diploma in ICT is a qualification which builds upon the content of the OCR National Award studied in Year 9, 10 and 11

One subject in depth, assessed largely through coursework and projects.
