Contact provider for more information as this may not be up to date course information. It is the equivalent of one A Level and will be taken in conjunction with other BTECs or A Levels. It provides an introduction to the study of creating IT systems to manage and share information. It makes up a third of a typical study programme, and is normally taken alongside other level 3 qualifications. There are three mandatory Units that students have to complete plus one optional one. Learners complete and achieve all four units Unit 1. Information Technology Systems (120 GLH) H S Unit 2. Creating Systems to Manage Information (90 GLH) H Unit 3. Using Social Media in Business (90 GLH) H The fourth unit will be chosen in line with the expertise of the teaching staff so that students achievement can be supported. It may include Unit 5 Data Modelling or Unit 6. Website Development. Please note that Unit 1 is externally examined. Unit 1: Information Technology systems, students are required to sit a two hour exam, which is worth 90 marks. The exam will assess students understanding of computer systems and the implications of their use in personal and professional situations.
