This exciting study programme will help you build up a range of creative and technical skills and knowledge to help you get into a wide range of computing jobs in the future (see http://www.itjobswatch.co.uk). It will give you the opportunity to enter employment in the computing sector or to progress onto further study programmes such as BTEC Level 3 Diplomas. You will study the following computing disciplines based around commercial/employer projects: Discovery Project This looks at social media, how companies use technology, cloud computing, how computers work, an intro to programming and HTML, networking and various handheld devices. Websites & Graphics You will be given a project brief by a local employer which will see you creating a variety of graphics and websites using industry standard software. The websites will include interactive multimedia content such as videos and animations and the finished products will be looked at by the employers. App Development You will be given another project brief by a different employer, but this time you will be creating mobile apps and programming in a few different languages. You will get the chance to test your apps and programs on a range of different gadgets. Qualifications needed: 2 GCSEs, or the equivalent and ideally a minimum Level 1 attainment in Maths and English Required experience: We welcome applicants without prior experience.

One subject in depth, assessed largely through coursework and projects.

What this level means

The GCSE-equivalent step, and the usual route into Level 3.
