What does it cover? Modules: The Online World & Technology Systems Digital Portfolio Installing and Maintaining Computer Software Mobile App Development Automated Computer Systems Computer Security in Practice Computer Networks You will research the online world and technology systems, design and create a mobile app, learn about networking and creating your own network, install hardware into computers as part of your assignment and learn how this can be maintained. Finally, you will learn the importance of computer security and apply your knowledge in securing machines in our computer hardware room. How is it assessed? You will be internally assessed through assignments set and marked by your teachers. Work will be graded at a Pass, Merit or Distinction. Two externally assessed exams at the end of the year.

What you need to get on

Open to learners aged 19 and over. Applicants should preferably have either a grade 4 in maths or English however these can be studied alongside the course.

How you are assessed

One subject in depth, assessed largely through coursework and projects.

What this level means

The GCSE-equivalent step, and the usual route into Level 3.
