This course is perfect if you have creative interests and you want to explore your skills and get started studying millinery in smaller group. You'll learn the different aspects of design and millinery, as well as the experience you'll need to bring your ideas to life. You can expect to learn in our dedicated millinery studio with hands-on work and research-based activities. Our experienced and friendly tutors and technicians will help you complete a range of creative projects and assignments. The course consists of projects covering design and making for millinery. Students will develop and test their creativity within a structure that will provide a sound base of skills and knowledge, while enhancing self-confidence and revealing the potential career demands and opportunities within the sector. The practical sessions will give you skills in drawing, creating a mood board and those most important skills for designing and making your first hats. Projects will also develop your broader skills in being organised, teamwork, communication and career planning.

What you need to get on

All are welcome. Suitable for people with limited or no previous experience. Students must be able to speak, read and write in English. Basic numeracy is an advantage though not essential.

How you are assessed

Entry level and Level 1 study, English and maths retakes, and supported programmes.
