The Level 2 Music Diploma is for you if you are passionate about music and enjoy working in a creative, exciting environment. The course has pathways in singing, band performance and music technology (including DJing) and you will have the opportunity to perform in several performances throughout the year. You will study within our fully equipped, dedicated music campus, Sam Newsom Music Centre, where you will develop personalised projects relating to performance and production. You will be encouraged to work on 'real world' projects, giving you the opportunity to perform to the public and submit songs to the programmes record label. You will learn how to compose, produce, perform, manage events, develop yourself as an artist and understand the business side of the industry. The course creates an environment where you are encouraged to explore your personal goals supported by our team of lecturers who have long standing professional experience and are still actively involved in the music business outside of the College. This qualification will allow you to progress to a Level 3 course upon successful completion.

What you need to get on

Four GCSEs at grades 1 or above (Old GCSE grade G or above) (or equivalent). An audition to demonstrate musical or technical ability will also be required. If you do not meet the entry requirements, the Level 1 Exploring the Creative Arts Extended Certificate could be for you.

One subject in depth, assessed largely through coursework and projects.
