Develop your skills to thrive and achieve your full musical potential. This qualification covers a vast range of areas that are linked to music industry skills and also aligned to the requirements of the advanced courses. These areas include exploring music, professional development, self-promotion in the music industry, music performance, music production, creating music and a music project. This project provides flexibility for you to further explore a particular area of your own musical interest. The course is open to both instrumental and non-instrumental ‘producers’. It allows for the skills development of both performance and production pathways, with lots of shared collaborative projects that will provide a well-rounded set of music industry skills.

What you need to get on

3 GCSEs at Grade 4 or above, or a relevant Level 1 qualification. GCSE Music (or equivalent) is desirable but not essential.If you are looking to progress onto Level 3 Music Performance, you will be required to attend an audition evening where you will have the opportunity to showcase your music ability, potential and passion for your subject.

One subject in depth, assessed largely through coursework and projects.
