The Level 2 Art and Design Diploma is for those who are passionate about Art and Design. The course will help you develop your practical skills in many areas Including: fine art, painting, sculpture, metalwork, print, plaster, photography, 3D designs, graphic design and 4D time-based media. You will be introduced to each area and process and be encouraged to experiment. Your lecturers all have a working knowledge of the art and design industry and are all still active in the business outside of the college, resulting in accurate, up-to -ate knowledge being shared throughout the course.

What you need to get on

Five GCSEs at grade 1 or above (Old GCSE grade G and above) or equivalent and a portfolio of work will be required when you are invited in for a review. If you do not have a portfolio of work to bring to the interview, you may be set a task to complete within 2 weeks as a condition to enrolment. If you do not meet the entry requirements, the Level 1 Exploring the Creative Arts Extended Certificate could be for you.

How you are assessed

One subject in depth, assessed largely through coursework and projects.

What this level means

The GCSE-equivalent step, and the usual route into Level 3.
