The esports industry is a rapidly growing and developing industry, being projected to contribute over £180 million to the economy in 2024 and rapidly gaining mainstream appeal. This nexus of a variety of fields, such as event production, broadcasting and online content creation, provides a verdant job market that is growing year on year. At MidKent College, we are proud to be one of the few centres in the country providing this bespoke qualification, helping students gain the skills and experience for an exciting career in the esports industry and helping students stand out when applying for jobs in the high-growth sector. Our BTEC Level 2 Diploma in Esports is a 1-year programme aimed at introducing students to the unique world of the esports industry and the various opportunities within it. In tandem with the BTEC, we also run a unique, smaller course for Esports Leadership in collaboration with British Esports and the Leadership Skills Foundation. Unique to MidKent College this additional qualification develops even further on the skills, attributes and behaviours needed to succeed within a role in the industry.
