What the college says
The aim of the course is to develop the basic employment skills, practical skills, and knowledge required to become a competent and employable bricklayer. It�s about preparing you to meet the needs of employers and work in the industry. The course consists of both practical and theoretical elements, and you must successfully complete both parts to achieve this qualification. Employers will expect good attendance, behaviour, and communication skills, enabling you to interact with clients, work safely, use initiative, and demonstrate bricklaying skills. As the programme progresses, you will build upon your skills in preparation for practical assessments and knowledge tests. The programme will prepare you for employment as a skilled craftsperson. A large part of the programme is project-based, allowing you to acquire practical skills and job-related knowledge. As a college, we will reinforce the values expected in the industry to give you the skills to be successful in work and life.
What you need to get on
For this qualification applicants will need a 1 x grade 3 (or equivalent) and 1 x grade 2 (or equivalent) in Maths and English Applicants who hold an entry programme i.e. city and guilds 6219 applications will be considered on an individual basis
How you are assessed
Entry level and Level 1 study, English and maths retakes, and supported programmes.

A first step that builds towards Level 2.
