What the college says

The course modules comprise eight key modules: biological molecules, cells, organisms exchange substances with their environment, genetics, energy transfers in and between organisms, organisms respond to changes in their internal and external environments, genetics, populations, evolution and ecosystems, control of gene expression. Required practical’s will be conducted and reported on throughout the two years, resulting in a pass or fail at the end of the course.

What you need to get on

A minimum of five GCSEs at grades 4-9, including a minimum of grade 5 in English and maths and at least a grade 6 or above at GCSE in both biology and chemistry for triple science students or grade 6/6 for combined science students.

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
