If you enjoyed GCSE Biology and have an interest in learning more in depth, complex biological processes and are considering studying a Science subject at university then this is the right course for you. Here at Penistone we study Edexcel Advanced GCE Biology A (9BN0). Throughout the course you will be expected to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of scientific processes in a theoretical and practical context. You will also analyse, interpret and evaluate scientific information and practical procedures

What you need to get on

Students must achieve a minimum of a Grade 6 in Biology GCSE or a 6-6 in the Combined Trilogy Course, as well as a grade 5 in Maths at GCSE.

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
