Core contents include biological molecules, nucleic acids, cell structure, transport across membrances, cell recognition and immunity, exchange of substances, mass transport, DNA and protein synthesis, genetic diversity, biodiversity. There are also six required practicals to complete. In addition to the year 12 contents - Energy transfers in and between organisms, organisms respond to changes in their internal and external environments, genetics, populations, evolution and econsystems, the control of gene expression. there are also 6 more required practicals to complete.
