Biology is the scientific study of life: as such it encompasses the investigation of living organisms and life processes from the molecular, through cells and individual organisms to populations and whole communities of animals and plants. Biology is an immensely complex and extremely important area of science and your A Level studies will provide you with a solid base for later specialization.

What you need to get on

The minimum academic requirement for entry to sixth form at Liverpool College is six GCSE passes at grade C or above including English and Mathematics. In addition, in order to study Biology you should have at least a grade B in GCSE Biology or at least a grade B in Core Science and a grade A in Additional Science.

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
