Biology is the study of life - from molecules and cells to interactions between organisms and the environment. As well as developing their knowledge and understanding, students will learn skills to make connections and associations between all living things. Strongly recommended that students have a GCSE English and Mathematics grade 6 for this course.

What you need to get on

A minimum sixth form entry requirement of five GCSEs grades 9-5 including grade 5 in English & Mathematics. Subject criteria: GCSE grade 7-7 in Combined Science, or grade 7 in Biology and grade 6 in Chemistry if separate sciences studied.

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
