What the college says

Training is undertaken in a realistic professional salon environment. This will combine with relevant theory and practical learning. This Level 2 course will prepare you for a career in beauty therapy, which offers many opportunities within the industry, such as a job as a mobile therapist, jobs on cruise liners or a salon owner.

What you need to get on

A minimum of four GSCEs at grade 3, including English and maths or successful completion of a Level 1 qualification and good progress with English and maths.

How you are assessed

Two-year technical qualification with a 45-day industry placement. Equivalent to three A levels.

What this level means

The GCSE-equivalent step, and the usual route into Level 3.
