What the college says
AS Biology is examined by two written papers at the end of year 12. Each paper is 1hour 30 minutes and have equal weighting for the overall AS grade. The papers each consist of 65 marks of short and long answer questions and 10 marks of comprehension and extended response answers. Paper 1 and 2 both assess all four AS units: Biological molecules, cells, Organisms exchange substances with their environment and Genetic information, variation & relationships between organisms. Both papers assess relevant practical skills. Students are required to carry out a minimum of 6 practicals in year 12.

5 Grade 4 or above at GCSE including Maths and English Language grade 5 at Higher Tier in Science
How you are assessed
Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
