The new Edexcel A level course, also consists of two components. Component 1. 60% A personal investigation coursework- a personal journey exploring your own ideas both in, and out of your sketchbook. Students also submit a piece of continuous prose of a minimum of 1000 words, on a theme connected with their own work Component 2. 40% An externally set assignment -a shorter unit starting on 1st February, and culminating in a 15 hour controlled assessment, in which students create final response(s) to the set theme

What you need to get on

Grade 6 in GCSE Art or Textiles guarantees a place on this course. Please note that applicants must also meet our overall entry requirements of scoring at least a total of 42 points (simply add up all your GCSE grades) and achieve a Grade 4 or higher in both English Language and Mathematics.

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
