A Level Art is a two year course of study. Students develop skills to a high standard throughout the first year before embarking on a personal investigation in the Summer Term. This project focuses on an aspect of Art and Design that the student has a personal interest in. The aim of the unit is to study in depth the work of others alongside a practical exploration of the theme. As the project develops students will begin to develop and explore their own way of working in the production of a portfolio. Work is highly individualised and personal. Unit 2 is externally set by the exam board. Topics are broad and students work independently towards a timed 15 hour response as a conclusion.
