A LEVEL ENGLISH LITERATURE Whilst studying A Level English, students read a variety of texts covering two genres: comedy and political protest writing. Students will also produce two independent pieces of coursework, giving them the opportunity to examine an author's intentions across their writing and to critique texts from different ideological standpoints. The key skill fostered is to form an interpretation and support this through a convincing, original argument.

What you need to get on

An Attainment 8 score of 50+ to follow an A Level programme of study. Grade 5+ or better in English Language, English Literature and Mathematics must be achieved to be considered.

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
