What the college says
Biology is fascinating and involves studying everything from the molecular structure of cell components to animal behaviour and the interactions of organisms with their environment and each other. Biologists try to understand every living organism, from the smallest bacterial cell to the largest mammal; from the tallest tree to microscopic algae.
What you need to get on
5 GCSEs or equivalent, grade 9 - 4, including Maths and English Language. In addition a grade 6 -6 or above in Combined Science or a grade 6 or above in GCSE Biology is required. Students who are not taking Mathematics at A-level will be required to participate in a Core Maths session which will focus on the Maths skills needed to be a successful Biologist.
How you are assessed
Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
