Core Mathematics starts at a lower level than A-level Mathematics and continues at a slower pace, allowing students, who would otherwise not be able to keep up with the demands of A-level Mathematics, to still enjoy a valued and worthwhile qualification. This one-year course follows the GCSE approach with lots of number, algebra, shape, space and data handling.

Students need a grade 6 or 5 from the GCSE Higher Level Mathematics examination to study this course.
