Discover a world of murder, mystery and the quest for power by reading accounts from the people who experienced these dangerous times and by examining the relics they left behind. Ancient History is the study of Greek and Roman history through the use of ancient sources. This course will give you extremely important skills for both university and your future career: learn to analyse, interpret, evaluate source material and to debate key issues from ancient history. A great combination with modern History, as well as a refreshing contrast to topics you may have studied at GCSE.
What you need to get on
A minimum of 5 passes (grade 4 or above) at GCSE, including in both English and Maths (not including Level 2 vocational qualifications).
How you are assessed
Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.

The A-level-equivalent step, and what universities and employers ask for.
