What is it? Ancient history investigates Ancient Rome and Greece. From the campaigns of Alexander the Great to Caesars assassination, you will come face-to-face with historys biggest winners and greatest losers. Why study this course at Blackpool Sixth? The study of classics is well respected by universities and employers and combines with a wide range of subjects. Recent visits have included Liverpool, Athens and Rome. Specific course entry requirements: Grade 5 in GCSE English Literature or Language is preferred (you do not need to have studied history before)

What you need to get on

For our A Level programme, we require at least two GCSEs at (5) (B) grade and three GCSEs at grade 4 (C) or above, including English language and maths. The pass grades need to be in academic GCSEs and relate to your chosen A level courses. Please see our website for specific course requirements.

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
