What the college says
The aim of the course is to develop a questioning attitude. Students will learn how to critically analyse philosophical arguments and consider the works of key thinkers. The course content complements other subjects studied at A Level, both in arts and sciences. It is regarded as academically challenging and is well received in applications for a wide range of university courses.
What you need to get on
General entry requirements are: Five grade 5s at GCSE, including GCSE English Language or GCSE English literature and GCSE Maths. Subject specific entry requirements are: Grade 5 in GCSE RE (if taken) and grade 6 in either GCSE English Language or GCSE English Literature.
How you are assessed
Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
