You would be suitable for this course if you are interested in broadening and deepening your knowledge of Mathematics beyond the A-level Mathematics syllabus. It is particularly useful for students wishing to study Mathematics, Physics or Engineering at degree level or in work-based study, as well as many other maths-related subjects. Further Mathematics at post-16 level is best suited to students who have gained a grade 8 or above at GCSE higher tier. This course combines well with further study or work in areas such as Computer Science, Physics, Engineering, Business, Economics and Psychology. Further Maths is essential for many Mathematics degree courses and some Science and Engineering courses.
What you need to get on
A minimum of 5 subjects at Grade 4 or above, including at least one of GCSE English Language and GCSE Mathematics. A minimum of a grade 8 in GCSE Mathematics
How you are assessed
Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
