What the college says

The insights and achievements of the Classical World have shaped western thought for the last two thousand years. To study this first-hand helps develop a deeper understanding of human behaviour and thought on issues as important today as the intersection of politics and race, the roles of gender and status, and the overall meaning of the human experience. In this fascinating course you will explore the culture and literature of the ancient Greeks and Romans. Sources studied include their material culture, art and architecture, as well as literature set texts, which are read in English in class.
