This course will be run on Wednesdays 9am - 1pm. AAT qualifications are recognised and respected throughout the sector. This qualification delivers the skills and essential knowledge to manage books effectively. It includes manual double entry bookkeeping, and associated documents and processes, up to Trial Balance standard. The AAT Foundation Certificate in Bookkeeping consists of the two bookkeeping modules from the AAT Foundation Certificate in Accounting, Introduction to Bookkeeping and Principles of Bookkeeping Controls. This qualification can be used as a fast track route to the AAT Advanced Diploma in Accounting. Your study is based on actually doing the work, so future employers know that as well as the underpinning knowledge, you have the skills and practical experience to not only perform within a bookkeeping role, but to excel in it.

What you need to get on

There are no formal entry requirements, however, a good grasp of basic maths and English is essential.

How you are assessed

Two-year technical qualification with a 45-day industry placement. Equivalent to three A levels.

What this level means

The GCSE-equivalent step, and the usual route into Level 3.
