A Level Sociology
at The Windsor Forest Colleges Group, Berkshire · college
What the college says
Sociology will give you a critical understanding of contemporary British social issues and the way in which society is structured. You will have the opportunity to study a number of different social theories and explore ways in which they can be applied to society to help us understand the way society functions. You will learn the skills of extended evaluative and analytical essay writing, as well as research, debating and presentation skills. You will be challenged to explore and explain changes in contemporary society, both nationally and globally, and how sociologists have obtained the evidence for their theories. The topics studied are education and research methods, families and households, beliefs in society and crime and deviance.
