This course is for anyone moving on from GCSE with an interest in sport and physical education. You might be choosing it because you're headed for a career in the sports industry, though it will equip you with transferable skills such as teamwork, resilience and leadership that can be used in a wide range of careers. You'll need enthusiasm and a commitment to training and performing regularly in a chosen sport. A level PE combines well with subjects including physics, chemistry, biology and psychology.

What you need to get on

Students should ideally have grade 6 / Merit or higher in a Level 2 PE course. Students must also have a minimum of grade 5 in Science, but preferably grade 6. This course is open to students who have not studied GCSE PE but acceptance will be upon discussion with the subject leader. Students will be expected to further their own personal high level of performance through participation in sport outside of college.

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
