Anyone who has an enthusiastic interest in sport and is a keen participant or performer will enjoy the challenges that A Level Physical Education will present. It is an ideal subject to allow you to develop the skills in your specialist practical areas. The course will also make you aware of all the other factors that contribute to improving performance. In addition, the subject has a well respected theoretical foundation, giving you many skills required for your career aspirations. To study A Level PE you are required to participate regularly in competitive sport for your chosen activity. You will need to maintain this involvement throughout the duration of your studies. What you need to get on

Students should be aged 16 to 18 years old. You will need grade 5 in GCSE PE or a Merit in BTEC Sport (if you have not studied these, you must be participating in sport at club level) plus grade 5 in GCSE Science and English Language and grade 4 in GCSE Maths.

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
