What will I learn & how will it help me?The Drama and Theatre A-Level aims to inspire students to become independent theatre makers through the development of skills they will need to go on to higher education, whether that is to study a course in drama and theatre or another subject.This qualification emphasises practical creativity alongside research and theoretical understanding. Students are encouraged to collaborate, communicate and create pieces of their own theatre; as well as study a variety of styles, practitioners and scripted texts. Students learn through experience, seeing theatre and making theatre for themselves. Students will be invited to a number of theatre visits, which will be studied throughout the course.Live theatre plays a large part in widening the students knowledge and understanding of drama. Students are encouraged to attend a large number of theatre visits throughout the course. A variety of texts, practitioners and styles are studied from a practical perspective.Assessment - ASDRAM 1: Live Theatre Production Seen and Prescribed Play.DRAM 2: Presentation of an extract from a play.Assessment - A2 DRAM3: Further Prescribed Plays including Pre-Twentieth Century.DRAM4: Presentation of Devised Drama.
