The A Level History course is a very demanding course, requiring students to study, in depth, a broad range of historical periods, themes, events, individuals, societies, developments and issues; of more than one country/state. Not only must students be willing to absorb a large and exciting new vocabulary they must be prepared to study socio – economic, political issues and theory to a high level. Due to the demands of the course, students must have sophisticated English language abilities, be able to spell and be grammatically accurate. What you need to get on

7 GCSE's grades ‘A* to C’ including Maths. English Language at Grade ‘B’, Humanities subject at Grade ‘B’ (i.e. History, Sociology, Citizenship, Humanities, Psychology,)

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
