History gives a strong academic basis for a huge number of university courses. If you plan to study History at university or you are aiming for a career in government, education, business, journalism, law or public relations, History is the right A level subject for you. A level History is a two-year course split between two teachers. After the second year you will be awarded the full A level (A2) after taking two final exams and completing coursework.

What you need to get on

Five or more grades at 4+ in GCSE or equivalent, including English and Maths. A grade 5+ in History and a 5+ in English (Lang or Lit)

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
