Your skills as an historian will be developed and assessed through the study of British Social History 1851-1964, and the Cold War, alongside a coursework essay. If you enjoy learning about interesting events and people from the past, using evidence from historical research, and engaging in lively debates, History could be a great subject for you!
What you need to get on
Six GCSEs 9-4 (or A*-C) Two at least grade 6 (or B) Two from English, Maths OR Science It is useful to have taken History at GCSE level, but not essential. Students who have taken GCSE History need a minimum of grade 5 in the subject.
How you are assessed
Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
