•AQA The A Level history course is exciting and varied and offer students the opportunity to develop a wide range of historical skills. Course Content A Level Students will complete: •a breadth study on the Tudors 1485-1603 worth 40% of the A Level course. •a depth study, also worth 40% of the A Level course – revolution and dictatorship focussing on Russia and the Soviet Union, 1917–1953. •a historical enquiry on the causes of the Final Solution. This allows students to demonstrate independent research skills. They will use historians’ interpretations and first hand evidence to examine the complex roots of the anti-Semitism which led to the Holocaust in WW2. Assessment 20% coursework, 80% end of course examination
What you need to get on
Grade 6 at GCSE History. If GCSE History has not been studied then grade 6 in English would be considered.
How you are assessed
Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
