A Level History is excellent at embedding skills for a wide variety of careers. You will study The British Empire c1857 1967 this unit allows you to study in breadth issues of change continuity cause and consequence during this period. You will also study The Birth of the USA 1760 1801 this unit provides the opportunity for in depth study of the years in which the 13 American colonies broke away from Great Britain and founded the USA. The third part is a historical investigation this is a Non exam assessment component.

What you need to get on

You will need 5 GCSEs at 9/A* to 4/C including Maths and English. Minimum grade 5 in English Literature strong or /strong English Language is required. It is strongly recommended that you have a 4/C or above in History and an enquiring mind. You will also be required to complete a GCSE to A Level Transition Project prior to enrolment.

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
