What the college says

In addition to timetabled periods of German, students have a weekly conversation class with the German language assistant, which helps them to increase fluency and confidence in speaking. Students are expected to be actively involved in the lessons, contributing to group discussions, making short presentations, listening and responding to authentic German. We expect students to display an enthusiasm for German language and culture, as well as the determination to develop their language skills to the full. Taking the opportunity to visit Germany is one such way of doing so. Year 12 students are invited to take part in the exchange visit to our partner school in Göttingen. Assessment: Students take the following examinations at the end of Year 13: Paper 1: Listening, Reading and Writing (40% of A Level); Paper 2: Writing (30% of A Level); Paper 3: Speaking (30% of A Level).
