If you enjoyed GCSE German, enjoy talking, expressing your opinions and learning about other cultures then A-Level German could be for you! The course aims to further develop the understanding of and increase confidence in the use of both the spoken and written forms. Students will use increasingly complex and accurate language when communicating. They will develop their critical insight into, and contact with, the contemporary society and cultural background of the countries where German is spoken. Throughout the course students must be prepared to spend time on reading as much as possible, listening to the language on the radio, tape and TV and learning vocabulary and grammar.Topics studied are:3.1 Social issues and tends:Aspects of German-speaking society e.g. The digital world, youth culture and family.Multiculturalism in German-speaking society e.g. immigration, integration and racism.3.2 Political and artistic culture:Artistic culture in the German-speaking world e.g. festivals, art, cultural life in BerlinAspects of political life in the German speaking world e.g. Germany and the EU, Politics and youth and German reunification.3.3 GrammarIncluding nouns, adjectives, verbs, word order, tense and the German case system.3.4 WorksLiterary texts and works.Students study either one text and one film or two texts.3.5 Individual research projectStudents must identify a subject or a key question which is of interest to them and which relates toa country or countries where Germa
