Further maths is aimed at students who wish to study mathematically based degrees at university. For outstanding mathematicians, taking further maths is often an enjoyable, stimulating, rewarding and empowering experience. It is a challenging qualification which extends and deepens your knowledge and understanding beyond A level maths. It is a chance to explore new and more sophisticated concepts and deepen your understanding of core mathematical skills. Qualifications in Further Mathematics are highly regarded and provide a wonderful opportunity for those students taking this option to distinguish themselves from others. Some students choose to study this as an AS level in Year 12 to complement their A Level Maths studies

What you need to get on

To study A Level courses you'll need:�5 GCSEs at 9-5 plus Grade 5 in all subjects you wish to study at A Level plus a Grade 7 in Maths. You must also be studying A Level Maths.

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
