Why study English Literature: Reading about people, their thoughts, and why they do things is fascinating and helps you understand yourself and the people around you. Reading is a great way to learn more about history and politics. Furthermore, Literature can lead to a wide range of degree courses and careers. What skills will you develop? You will develop the ability to analyse and evaluate texts and critical opinions, independently, and develop your own skills as an independent, critical reader. You will have the chance to select texts that interest you personally and develop interests in the field of literature.
