What the college says

This qualification is linear. Linear means that students will sit all the exams at the end of their A Level course. Students study a minimum of nine texts: consisting of at least one Shakespeare play, further drama texts, poetry texts, prose texts and Critical Anthology issued by the exam board.

What you need to get on

6 GCSE grades 9 - 5 to include grade 6 in English Language and grade 6 in English Literature. Please note that progress from Year 12 to Year 13 is dependent upon passing the AS Level exam at the end of Year 12 (modular courses) or the Year 12 end-of-year test (linear courses).

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
