The course is designed to provide knowledge and understanding of businesses of varying sizes and to develop students’ skills of analysis and decision making. Students will develop an understanding of business in a range of contexts; a critical understanding of organisations and their ability to meet society’s needs and wants; how to generate enterprising and creative approaches to business opportunities, problems and issues; an awareness of the ethical dilemmas and responsibilities faced by organisations and individuals. In Year 13, the following topics are explored: business objectives and strategy; business growth; decision making techniques and influences on business decisions; assessing competitiveness and managing change. Aspects of global business are also completed: globalisation; global markets and business, expansion; global marketing and global industries and companies.

What you need to get on

Waddesdon Points System to enter the Sixth Form explained in the prospectus. Minimum of 5 in GCSE English, 4 in GCSE Maths and 5 in GCSE Business (if studied).

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
