What is Biology? Biology is the study of living things: where they live, how they function, how they behave, so it is of interest to most people. As a science subject students will develop skills of forming hypotheses, predicting outcomes and solving problems from a scientific perspective. Why study it? Biology is an ideal subject to combine with other sciences or to enhance other areas of the curriculum and it is strongly recommended for students wishing to pursue careers in Medicine, Dentistry or Veterinary Sciences.
What you need to get on
You will need to achieve five or more “4” grades including Grade 6 in Biology or 6-6 in Double Award Science
How you are assessed
Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.

The A-level-equivalent step, and what universities and employers ask for.
