Biology is the study of life in all of its forms. It combines problem solving with practical skills and enables you to develop a scientific approach to the subject. You must be aged 16-18 to apply for this course.

What you need to get on

To study 3 A Levels you'll need at least 5 GCSE's at grades 9-4 (A*-C) including GCSE English at grade 4 (C) or above and Maths at grade 5 (C) or above. To study 4 A Levels you'll need at least 6 GCSE's at grades 9-6 (A*-C) including GCSE English at grade 4 (C) or above and Maths at grade 5 (C) or above. One of your GCSEs must be a Grade 6 (B) or above in GCSE Biology, GCSE Combined Science: Trilogy, or a 5 in Biology if you have a 6 in GCSE Chemistry.

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
