Biology is the scientific study of life itself. Throughout this two year course you will develop knowledge of the wide range of living things and an understanding of the life processes that they all share in common. You will study a broad range of topics from cell structure and biological molecules to the physiology of mammals and plants as well as more specialist topics such as microbiology and disease. In addition the specification contains a large component of ecology conservation and evolution.

What you need to get on

5 GCSEs at grades 9/A* 4/C including English Language two grades 6/B in Biology and a second Science or Double Science and a grade 5 or above in Maths. You will also be required to complete a GCSE to A Level Transition Project prior to enrolment to prepare you for A Level Biology.

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
