What the college says
Students will engage in a range of traditional and contemporary art processes in order to develop a broad and exciting portfolio of work. The course provides students with the opportunity to experience a deeper understanding of the art world through the development of their ideas and the search for an appropriate means of expression. Students will focus on building a foundation of skills that include painting and drawing, printmaking, sculpture and lens based image making. These skills are then channelled towards creating their own personal projects ending with an externally set controlled assignment in year two.
What you need to get on
This course is open to students who have achieved a grade 5 in an Art and Design endorsed subject such as Design, Photography, Printmaking, Graphics or Fine Art or a Level 2 pass in an Art and Design BTEC qualication
How you are assessed
Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
