What the college says
Course Overview Improve or develop key welding skills with the Level 2 Certificate in Welding Practice. Delivered over 2 evenings a week for 35 weeks, this highly practical programme covers areas such as MMA Welding, Metal Arc Gas Shielded and Tungsten Arc Gas Shielded, as well as science, calculations and health and safety. Ideal for trainees or new graduates, those looking to change careers and current welders looking to upskill, the programme leads to full ABC certification. Successful candidates could then develop their welding skills further by progressing to either the BS4872 Testing or to one of our other welding programmes.
What you need to get on
Please note: Where wearing PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) is a mandatory requirement of the course, it is the responsibility of the learner to ensure that they are able to wear such equipment. Learning a trade with tools and equipment, often in a college workshop or salon.
What this level means
The GCSE-equivalent step, and the usual route into Level 3.
